We are extremely excited to be one of the select few SUBWAY® restaurants in GTA that are participating in this exclusive launch of Falafel Sandwich.
Falafel is a Middle Eastern food made primarily with garbanzo beans (chickpeas). The falafel sandwich is slightly more authentic with our flatbread, but it can also be made with any other type of bread. Because falafel patties do not contain have any meat products, the sandwich is also appealing to vegetarians, and being vegetarian ourselves, we are thrilled about this new option at Subway.
The all-vegetable falafel patty arrives "flash frozen and 80% cooked" at Subway restaurant. The cooking process is finalized in a TurboChef oven separate from all egg and meat products. Patties are placed on a special paper intended for one-time use and heated until crispy on the outside and "fluffy and moist" on the inside. Three patties come on a six-inch sub; six on a foot-long.
The falafel sandwich is served with Tzatziki Sauce, a cucumber sauce that contains dairy. You may request the Fat Free Sweet Onion Sauce that is an all-vegetable sauce.
Containing 4 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per 6” sandwich, this delightful new product will undeniably fulfill your taste buds.
